Your Shade sensor comes with a charging cable with a micro-USB (small plug) on one end and a USB (larger plug) at the other end.
To charge your sensor:
- Insert the micro-USB end of the cable into the micro-USB port on the back of the sensor. The USB end of the cable can either be inserted directly into a USB port on your laptop* or desktop computer, or you can use it with a USB power adaptor (like the ones that comes with your mobile phone) to plug it into a wall outlet.
- The light on your sensor, once plugged in to charge, will momentarily blink green before turning a steady orange
- Launch your app right after you start charging the sensor. The app will connect to it and you will see a little charging icon on the dashboard to confirm that the sensor is charging.
Once fully charged, the light will turn green. It takes a few hours for your sensor to be fully charged.
When the sensor is low on charge, the app will inform you. The app must be running (either in the background or foreground) and connected to the sensor to do so.
*NOTE: if you are using a laptop computer to charge your sensor, ensure that your laptop is open and powered on.
